Edward Calvin Butler, 77, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, April 9, 2012.
Calvin was born on June 3, 1934 in Turner County, Georgia. He was a member of Parkway Assembly of God Church in Macon, Georgia. With pride and honor, Calvin served in the United States Navy, serving during the Korean conflict. After twenty four years of dedicated service, he retired from Merico, Inc. / Colonial Baking Company where he was a Sales Manager. He enjoyed spending time with his family, making picture frames, remodeling houses and reading his Bible. He loved spending time with each of his grandchildren, teaching them about things they need to know to make it in the world that he so briskly left behind. His parents, John and Maureen Butler, four sisters and two brothers, all preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife of fifty nine and a half years, Dene Butler, Warner Robins; daughter, Dianne Butler Brown (Ken); son, Richard Butler (Sharlene); grandchildren,
Kristie Thomas (Al); Nicholas Butler (Shari); Tabitha Butler; Keith Butler (Amanda); Magen Brown (Josh Rackley); great grandchildren, James, Trevor, Dakota, Alan, Janna, Johnna, Zebulon, and Michael; sister, Betty Wilkerson; several nieces and nephews, and his special little girl (dog) Lacey.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening, April 11, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2012 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Parkway Memorial Gardens. Memorial Donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 5962 Zebulon Road, PMB # 359, Macon, Georgia 31210. Please write in memory of Mr. Edward Calvin Butler on your check memo line.
