Edward "Eddie—Mr. D." Dixon, 80, entered into rest on Tuesday, February 7, 2012.
Eddie was born on March 10, 1931 in Crossville, Tennessee. A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, he retired after twenty-four years of service obtaining the rank of Master Sergeant. After retirement from the military, Eddie worked for over twenty-seven years with Children's Friend. There he printed educational materials, drove buses, and helped out anywhere he could. He was a resident of Warner Robins for forty years, loved country music, and was an avid golfer (he made a hole in one at the age of seventy-one). His parents, Allen Dixon and Etta Wyatt Dixon; brothers, Baxter, Jack, and Dexter Dixon; and sister, Gladys Caruthers, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of fifty-two years, Alma Foskey Dixon, Bonaire; son, Edward Donald Dixon, Jr., (Yong), Bonaire; grandson, Donald L. Dixon; sister, Alice Ray, Farmington, Missouri; and a number of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, February 10, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2012 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
