Edward J. Davis, 85, entered into rest on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 with family members at his bedside.
The son of the late Jessie Bryan and Bertha Yawn Davis, Edward was born in Danville, Georgia, on February 10, 1937. He worked in printing on Robins Air Force Base as a team leader for several years until his retirement. Grounded in his faith, Ed was a member of First Methodist Church of Warner Robins.
Ed always had a smile and was ready to give encouragement to those he met during the day. He enjoyed talking with others and sharing his love for life. Ed graduated from Danville High School in 1955. He played basketball and baseball through his early adult life, playing on many softball teams and later coaching both women and men’s teams until his retirement from Robins in 1995. In retirement, Ed was keenly interested in watching his grandchildren grow and continuing to devote himself to his wife and church.
In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Minnie Ethyl Davis; daughter, Shellia Kipa; granddaughter, Adona Brooks; and great-granddaughter, Madison Brooks.
