Mr. Edward (Lowell) Thompson, 88, died Thursday, February 19, 2004 at a local hospital. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 22 at Central Baptist Church with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. Saturday, February 21 at McCullough Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Joy in the Journey, 1647 Watson Blvd., Warner Robins, GA 31093.
Mr. Thompson was born in Dodge County, GA. He was veteran of WW II having served in the United States Army Medical Corp and was retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base having worked as a Jet Engine Mechanic. Mr. Thompson was a charter member of Central Baptist Church, a member of the Pete Joyner Sunday School class, a Deacon, a Sunday School teacher, and a member of the church choir. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elihue Samuel and Mary Bell Thompson; and son, Edward L. Thompson, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Wynona Thompson; son, Larry Thompson (Susan), Centerville; daughter, Barbara Jackson (Arthur), Live Oak, Florida; three grandchildren: Linda Boyd, Warner Robins; Lisa Weldon (Kenny), Milledgeville; and Kristal Hayes (Tommy), Byron; four great-grandchildren: Blake and Ryan Boyd, Warner Robins; and Nathan and Nicholas Weldon, Milledgeville; also several nieces and nephews.
