Edward Owen Burks

Edward Owen Burks of Warner Robins, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 7, 2022. He was 61 years old.

Born in Owensboro, Kentucky, on March 27, 1960, Ed was the son of the JoAnn (Dame) Burks and the late Mitchell Burks. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Skilled in many fields, Ed worked several jobs. He was the Manager of a few Shoney restaurants, worked at Auto Mechanics, and was an Air Conditioner Installer for ACC Climate Control in Byron, Georgia. He retired in 2011. After retirement, Ed stayed busy by working odd and end jobs, helping friends fix cars, and doing lawn care. In his spare time, Ed enjoyed hunting and watching NRHA. He also participated in various outreach ministries at the different churches he attended. Most recently, Ed attended the Apostolic Church of Warner Robins (821 Russell Parkway, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088).

He was preceded in death by his father, Mitchell Burks; brother, David Burks; and sister, Robin Hoyt.

Ed is survived by his wife, Sandra Rebecca Burks of Warner Robins; daughters, Jessica Burks (Chris Nicholson) of Stockbridge and Bethany Vallio (Christopher) of Perry; son, Brandon Huffman of Stockbridge; mother, JoAnn (Dame) Burks of Williamson; sister, Betty (Burks) Sutton (Jeff) of Milner; brothers, Mike Burks (Courtney) of Connecticut, John Burks of Williamson, and Mark Hoyt (Sandy) of Gray; three grandchildren, Aiden Nicholson, Anzlee Nicholson, and Piper Vallio; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Edward Owen Burks to the Salvation Army, 1955 Broadway, Macon, GA 31201 or to Daybreak, a Project of Depaul USA, 174 Walnut St., Macon, Georgia 31201.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. The funeral service celebrating his life will immediately follow at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Rev. M. K. Marcantel officiating.
