Effie Leora “Penny” Eckert

Effie Leora “Penny” Eckert went home to be with the Lord, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, March 4, 2021. She was 89 years old.

Born on November 26, 1931, in Enid, Oklahoma, Mrs. Eckert was the daughter of the late Lee Easterly and Estealla Dowers Easterly. After working as a civilian for several years, she retired from Robins Air Force Base. She was a longtime faithful member of Central Baptist Church where she taught Adult Single Sunday School and sang in the choir. One could always find Mrs. Eckert planting flowers in her garden or playing hymns on the piano. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. Mrs. Eckert will be remembered for her loving and kind spirit, always putting others before herself.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Eckert was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Eckert.

Mrs. Eckert’s legacy will continue through her children, Marlene Mulkey (Bill) of Warner Robins; and Steve and David Allen, both of Bentonville, Arkansas; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
