Born in Savannah on January 13, 1935, Eleanor was a homemaker. She was an avid bridge player.
She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Ernest Leroy Rogers, Sr.; son, Michael Kenneth Rogers, parents, Harold S. Sample and Dorothy Patche Sample, and sister, Annette Sample.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Ernest "Sonny" Rogers, Jr. (Teresa), Warner Robins, and Dorothy "Dotty" A. Cox (Walter), Warner Robins; grandchildren, Mary E. Fletcher (Steve), Warner Robins, Heather A Clements (Nick), Byron, Christopher J. Rogers, Alpharetta, and Michael C. Rogers, Hong Kong; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth N. Locke, Cadence Fletcher, and Marissa A. Clements; cousin, Janice Martinson (Kurt), Minnesota.

Visitation will be Monday, September 20, 2010, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at Andersonville National Cemetery, Father Paul Gerlock officiating. Flowers will be accepted or the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church, 2815, Highway 41 N., Fort Valley GA 31030.
