Elizabeth 'Liz' Mccranie Graham

November 28, 1934 — October 2, 2012

Johnnie Elizabeth Graham, 77, entered into rest on Tuesday, October 3, 2012.

Mrs. Graham was born in 1934 in Rhine, Georgia to the late Johnny and Jewell (Brown) McCranie. She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, John H. Graham, her eldest son, Ray, grandson, Christopher, and her son-in-love, David Barnett. Liz was schooled in Dodge County where she played basketball as a member of the division champions, the "Cosmettes," receiving a trophy for most points scored in a game. She was a graduate of Miss Monica McRae's School of Commerce and a business and finance graduate of Crandall Business College. She held office, alongside her husband, during the charter of the local AFGE 987/AFLCIO at Robins, operating the union from the family's guestroom during the early 1960's and experiencing her proudest career moment, receiving the conformation from President Kennedy that he would sign Executive Order 10988 on January 17, 1962. She was retired from Robins Air Force Base.

She is survived by her son, D. Craig Graham, daughter-in-law, Gloria Baldree Graham and grandchildren, Jennifer and Jonathan, all of Warner Robins; brothers, James (Sherry) McCranie, of Lizella; Dan (Wanda) McCranie of Soperton, and numerous adored cousins, nieces, nephews, and the boy, Matthew Barnett.

The family will receive guests between 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday, October 5 with the service to follow in the Chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held, where six generations rest at Sweet Home Church in Milan, at a later date. The family requests no flowers, but that you take your Mom (or a special lady that honors her Lord by her life) to lunch, then to T.J. Maxx. They also respectfully wish to stress, "you never lose the ones you love, as long as you love the ones you lost."
