Elsie Millwood Ashford

Elsie M. Ashford, 77, entered into rest on Wednesday, November 28, 2012.

Mrs. Ashford was born on July 22, 1935 in Belzoni, Mississippi. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Elsie retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse after working for Daniel O. Fussell, M.D. for many years. She was also a wonderful homemaker with a loving, caring heart. She enjoyed spending time with her loving family, visiting shut-ins and local nursing facilities. She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. Her parents, John Thomas Millwood and Dolly Register Millwood, preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her beloved husband of fifty-eight years, Elton Ashford, Sr., Warner Robins; children and their spouses, Amelia Ashford Phillips (Curtis), Sanderson, Florida; Sharon Ashford Bowman (Larry), Atlanta, Georgia; Elton Ashford, Jr. (Catherine), Alpharetta, Georgia; brother, D.W. Millwood, Belzoni, Mississippi; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Visitation will be Saturday evening, December 1, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Friendship Baptist Church with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to Friendship Baptist Church Building Fund, 1322 Feagin Mill Road, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
