Elwood Frank (Woody) Janik, Sr., 77, entered into rest on June 3, 2011.
Woody was born on October 28, 1933 in Camden, New Jersey. He retired from the United States Air Force after 21 years of service obtaining the rank of Staff Sergeant, and also retired as a Civil Servant from Robins Air Force Base. Mr. Janik was a resident of Warner Robins since 1972. He attended Green Acres Baptist Church and he enjoyed golfing and bowling. Woody was an active volunteer for the food bank, Habitat for Humanity, and Meals on Wheels. His parents, Joseph and Margaret Janik, Sr.; and brothers, Joseph Janik, Jr. and William Janik preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Vaughnzelle Janik; sons Elwood Frank "Woody" (Linda) Janik, Jr., Lance Janik, and Mark Janik, all of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Jason (Jaime) Janik, and Staci Janik; great grandchildren, Lilyan, Aden, and Josiah Janik; brother, Harry Janik, New Jersey; and sisters, Pauline Janik, New Jersey and Loretta Lohrman, Maryland.
Visitation will be Monday, June 6, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery with full military honors. The family will accept flowers, or memorial donations may be given to Green Acres Baptist Church, 901 Elberta Road, Warner Robins, Georgia 31093. "Goodnight precious, will see you in the morning."
