After a life of service to family and friends, Emily Sutton of Warner Robins returned to her Father on October 9, 2005. She had recently resided at Summers Landing Assisted Living facility and was 81.
Emily was born on January 15, 1924 in Empire, Georgia to the late King D. and Maude Tripp. She moved to Hawkinsville, Georgia in the early 1950’s and worked at Batts Drug Store. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ocilla, Georgia. She graduated from the New York School of Cosmetology in Syracuse, New York in 1959 and commenced a career that continued until 1990. She moved to Warner Robins in 1965, and made her home on Thomas Boulevard in the Manor until 1997. She was renowned around Warner Robins as an exceptional cosmetologist and stylist by several generations of the city’s ladies. She always had a special place in her heart for dogs, especially her cocker spaniel Mike and two Heinz 57 mixes, Ole Yeller and Sandy. “Aunt Noonie” was such a loving and giving soul, selflessly caring for every member of her family until she was called home. We will all miss her terribly.
Emily was preceded in death by her mother and father; brother, King D. Tripp, Jr.; sisters, Willie Belle Pruett and Jimmie Sutton; her beloved husbands, Jack Robinson and James O. Sutton, Jr.
She is survived by family and friends from across the United States including one sister-in-law, Carolyn Tripp, Douglas; three nieces, Janice Tarleton (Ronnie), Warner Robins; Gwen Beasley (James), Marietta; Jane Adcock (Ralph), Dublin; four nephews, Talmadge Pruett (Nadine), Perry; Ledford Pruett (Debra), Stone Mountain; Tommy Tripp (Bess), Edgeville, South Carolina; James O. Sutton, III (Dawn), Ogden, Utah.
