Emily Woosley Sams

Emily Woosley Sams, 86, entered into rest on Monday, July 20, 2009.

Mrs. Sams was born on April 26, 1923, in Union City, Tennessee. She graduated from University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. Of the Protestant faith, she was a devoted homemaker. Her parents, Gerald M. Woosley and Mary Jonakin Woosley, preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband, James Hagood "Sammy" Sams, Sr.; sons, Gerald Sams (Cynthia Barnard) and Jim Sams, Jr., (Linda); nieces, Cynthia Powell (Sinky), Diane Wise, Julia Sams-Holleman (Michael); nephews, Lt Gen John B. Sams, USAF (Ret) (Suzanne), William L. Sams (Sara), B.B. Sams, Jr., (Barbara), Alan B. Sams (Diane), Bill Sams, Thomas Legare (Marcia), William E. Legare; and brother-in-law, Bonum B. Sams (Vee).

Visitation will be Thursday, July 23, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2009, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home.
