On February 4, 2012, Emmett Larry "Butch" Lunceford left his earthly home and went to be with his lord Jesus Christ.
He was born in 1939 on September 21 in Atlanta Georgia. His was preceded in death by his parents Garner and Ruby Lunceford. He grew up and attended school in Warner Robins and was a proud graduate of Warner Robins High School in 1958. He served in the USMC from July of 1958 until May of 1962. He was a dedicated employee of the Houston County Sheriff's Department, Warner Robins Police Department, Warner Robins Recreation Department and drove a school bus for the Houston County Board of Education for 38 years. During his spare time he was a volunteer coach for the city recreation department and filmed the football games for the Warner Robins High School Demons for 20 plus years.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years Sandra and son Anthony (Sharon) and daughter Lisa Mobley (John); his five grandchildren, who were the light of his life, Jacob and Brett Mobley, Beau, Kasey and Zane Lunceford.
There will be a memorial service to celebrate his life on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 until service time. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to the donor's Hospice Charity of choice.
