Erika Joy Crook, 48, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 29, 2025, and together with her husband, Robby, they joined Christ in Heaven.
Erika was born on September 30, 1976, in Albany, Georgia. A proud graduate of Lee County High School and Georgia Southwestern University, she dedicated her life to caring for others as a registered nurse, specializing in hospice care in the Atlanta area.
Erika was a devoted wife and mother whose love for her family was the cornerstone of her life. She cherished every moment with her husband and children, and her joy in being with them was evident to all who knew her.
Creative and kind-hearted, Erika found peace in making handicrafts and happiness in the company of friends. She had a gift for connecting with people—always open, welcoming, and genuine. Described often as an "open book," Erika never met a stranger. Her quick wit and infectious laughter could light up any room.
Her spontaneous spirit and down-to-earth nature drew people to her, and her friendships were many and deeply treasured. Above all, Erika’s greatest love was her family.
Erika was a woman of deep faith and a dedicated member of Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, where her presence and spirit will be dearly missed.
Erika’s loving husband, Robert “Robby” Crook, joined her in heaven, hand in hand.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Michael Caleb Crook, Abbie Joy Crook, and Ayla Maddison Crook; parents, Joyce Shiver (Ray) and Richard Bureau (Susan); stepbrother, Jason Shiver (Tabatha); and uncle, Russell Michael Houston, along with many other loving family members and friends.
