Ernest Sylvester Barker

Ernest S. Barker, 86, died Thursday, January 3 at his home. Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, January 6 at Southside Church of God with
interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. The Reverends Joseph Howell, Virgil Allen, David Wilkins and Dwayne Evors will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at McCullough Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 301 Mulberry Street, Suite 201, Macon, GA, 31201.

Mr. Barker was born in Augusta, GA. He moved to Warner Robins in 1943 and was employed at Robins Air Force Base for 30 years. He was a retired Budget Analyst. He was a Charter Member and organizer of the first Church of God in Warner Robins. His church affiliation was with Southside Church of God in Warner Robins. He served as a Clerk and Music Director for approximately 60 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. and Annie L. Barker and his son, the late Ronald Barker.

Survivors include his wife, Mollie Gladys Barker; son, Dan S. Barker, Warner Robins; daughters, Brenda Fox, Warner Robins; Eunice Gilmore, Costa Mesa, CA; Rachel Howell, Warner Robins; brothers, Douglas Barker, Augusta; Harry Barker, Pelzer, SC; Horace Barker, Clearwater, SC; J.W. Barker, Greenwood, SC; Vernon Barker, Macon; sister, Phoebe Buffett, Aiken, SC; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great- grandchildren.
