Eugenia "Sue" Brown

Our beloved Eugenia “Sue” Brown, 87, was escorted to her heavenly home, Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 12:50 p.m.

Sue, as she was best known by, was born Eugenia Sue Gannon, on November 15, 1937, to the late George Washington Gannon and Mary Elizabeth Gannon. In her younger years, she was a practiced pianist/organist with her local church where she met her future husband, Billy Wayne Brown and wed on June 28, 1958. Sue went on to work for State Farm and then First National Bank. During this time, Sue and Bill had five beautiful children together in Tennessee and raised them in southern Georgia.

She was a loyal member of the Eastern Stars for over fifty years. Sue later retired and became a doting housewife to her husband Billy Wayne Brown and loving caretaker to her daughter, Deborah Sue Hunter until their passing in 2013 and 2023, respectfully.

Along with her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Wayne Brown; children, Billy Wayne Brown, Jr. and Deborah Sue Hunter.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Billy “Michael” Brown (Donna) of Valdosta, Georgia, Steven “Wayne” Brown of Warner Robins, Georgia, Beverly Eugenia Brown McDevitt (Scott) of North Pole, Alaska; grandchildren, Rebecca Sue Hunter Bishop, Christina Michelle Brown McNeal (Johnny), Christopher Michael Brown, Steven Gene Brown (Lisa; Haley), Kayley Elizabeth McDevitt (Clinton), and Brittney Danielle McDevitt; great-grandchildren, Wesley “Cole” McNeal, Michael “Wyatt” McNeal, and Evie Alyse McNeal, Ryleigh Jaren Brown, Deaven Cheyenne Brown, Kelsi Kristina Brown, Christopher Nathan Brown, Kaiden Brown, Olivia Brown, and Zadie Brown.

May Sue enjoy walking the golden streets of heaven with her beloved husband, Billy, her precious son Billy, Jr. and loving daughter, Deborah, and all others who guided her home.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. CST on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville, Tennessee.
