Eunice Irene Stringfellow, 94, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.
Eunice was born on June 3, 1930, in Talladega, Alabama to the late Leonard A. Fowler and Ivadean Chandler Fowler. Eunice was a Christian woman who loved God and Jesus, loved life, and loved all of her family fiercely, especially her eight grands and nine great-grands. She was lovingly known as “Sister”, “Mom”, “Aunt Eunice”, “Gams” and “Gigi”. In her professional life, Eunice was a pharmacy technician and a soldering instructor for the government at the Naval Submarine Base Bangor in Kitsap County, Washington. She loved traveling to Kauai, Hawaii for Honeywell as their soldering instructor. Later she became a switchboard operator at Wilson N. Jones Regional Medical Center in Sherman, Texas. But above all, she was a loving and caring homemaker.
Eunice was a magnificent crafter, from crocheting, to making Christmas ornaments, blankets, and ceramics. She loved giving to others and gave away more than she ever kept for herself. She was the strongest woman we have ever known; she was a fighter and a force to be reckoned with if you dared to tread on her family. Eunice passed onto her family her love of Jesus, the power of forgiveness, and how to protect those who could not protect themselves. Eunice was such a beautiful person inside and out and many considered her an angel on earth. We are comforted knowing there was a crowd at the gates of Heaven when she arrived home to paradise.
In addition to her parents, Eunice was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Herman Stringfellow, siblings, Elbert “Buddy” Fowler, James Fowler, and Dorothy “Dot” Fowler Smith, along with stepfather, Louis Fowler.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Rhonda “Denise” Bickford (Kenneth), Garry Stringfellow (Cindy), and Vicki Stringfellow Brinkley; grandchildren, Ryan Stringfellow (Ashlea), Justin Bickford (Nicole), Emilee Stringfellow, Garrett Stringfellow, and Bradley Brinkley (Taylor); great-grandchildren, Jacob Stringfellow, Audrey Stringfellow, Damian Stringfellow, Thomas Bickford, Zoey Bickford, Kinsley Brinkley, Braden Brinkley, Walker Brinkley, and Harper Brinkley; brother, Billy “Moose” Fowler; and brother-in-law, Danny Smith, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.
