Florence (Mamo) Johnson Moore

Florence J. Moore, 69, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 16, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mrs. Moore was born on April 26, 1941 in Sumter County, Georgia. A faithful member of Central Baptist Church, she was active in the Adult 4 Co-Ed A Sunday School class; involved in the youth ministry, and a GA's leader. She was the original co-owner of Pomo's BBQ and also co-owned Corral Classic Daycare. Florence worked for the Houston County Board of Education as a Substitute Teacher at Northside Middle School for many years. A woman of many accomplishments, first and foremost, her greatest passion was being a loving and dedicated homemaker. She was passionate about serving the Lord and her family as a dedicated spouse, loving mother, wonderful grandmother, sister, and great friend to many. She will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to know her. Her parents, Grady and Julia Duke Johnson, preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her beloved husband, Jim Moore, Warner Robins; children and their spouses, Leah and Ricky Rowe, Valdosta; Jeff and Tracy Moore, Warner Robins; Chuck and SaBess Moore, Calhoun; Keith and Heidi Moore, Kathleen; grandchildren, Ansley Rowe, Kyle Rowe, Caitlyn Rowe, Anna Rowe, McKenzie Moore, Zac Moore, Montana Moore, Tate Moore, Lane Moore, Jaye Moore, Victoria Moore and Alexandria Moore; brothers, Tommy Johnson, Lake City, Florida; and Warren Johnson, Perry; and so many other loving family members and close friends.

Visitation will be Thursday evening, February 17, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 18, 2011, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Dr. Owen Bozeman officiating. Interment will be in Andersonville National Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street Ste.
