On the afternoon of Tuesday, March 15, 2022, Florie Mullis Haralson, 92, of Byron, peacefully moved to her Heavenly Home. She was a godly woman who fiercely loved the Lord and her family and set an example for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that will lead them for all their lives.
Florie was born in Chester, GA on December 15, 1929, the daughter of the late Walter Franklin and Amanda Sirmons Mullis. She was a career wife, mother, and homemaker who loved her family with every fiber of her being; there was never a time that they did not know just how very much she loved them. It was evident in every word she spoke and everything she did, that Florie was a devout Baptist woman who embodied the same love, kindness, compassion and patience as our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She enjoyed being a longtime, faithful member of Second Baptist Church and the Joy Jubilee Sunday school class.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Evelyn Roland, Bertha Clarke, Earl Mullis and Claudia Floyd.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband of 72 years, Benjamin Hopkins Haralson, Sr. of Byron; children, Carol Wilson (Jim) of Warner Robins and Benny Haralson (Debbie) of Bonaire; granddaughters, Tammy Urbina (Mel) and Tracy Haralson; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Haralson, Isabela Urbina and Carmen Urbina; and sisters, Opal Hobbs of Dexter, Imogene Mullis of Dudley and Joann Haggler of Dudley.
Florie’s family will receive friends at McCullough Funeral Home on Saturday, March 19, 2022, from 3:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow at 4:30 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Slade officiating. Florie will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Florie to the Second Baptist Church Building Fund, 2504 Moody Rd., Warner Robins, GA 31088.
For friends unable to attend at this time, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.
