Frances Souther, 87, was called home to the Lord on the morning of Tuesday, June 20, 2017.
Frances was born in Winter Park, Florida to the late Frank Cribb and Iva David Holder Cribb Parker. She grew up in Macon, Georgia where she graduated from Miller High School in 1948. Shortly after graduation, Frances married the love of her life, Durwood Souther, and dedicated her life to faithfully serving her husband and raising their children.
A longtime member of Central Baptist Church, she enjoyed attending Sunday School Class, singing with the choir and being a member of the Women's Missionary Union. Mrs. Souther was a loyal wife and always supported her husband in his calling to the ministry. She was also called to help people through a phone ministry and praying for family and friends. Frances really enjoyed spending time with her friends from church and loved entertaining in her home, as well. She enjoyed showcasing her talent as a wonderful cook and baker and was skilled in sewing and crocheting blankets for family and friends. Mrs. Souther's children will always remember her as a "sweet lady" who was a true blessing to them throughout their lives.
Mrs. Souther's memory will forever be treasured by her devoted husband of 68 years, Rev. Durwood Souther of Warner Robins; children, Sheila Foster Waldner (Richard) of Panama City Beach, Florida, David Lee Souther (Heidi) of Warner Robins, and Marsha Maddox Joiner (Jay) of Woodbridge, Virginia; grandchildren, Rebecca Foster Tonge, Hillary Foster Pennington, Joshua Souther, and Cortney Maddox; great-grandchildren, Logan, Emma, Ella, Owen, Blake, Madison, Kaylee, Anna, and Taylor; and sister, Lucille Iva Huffaker of Arlington, Texas.
