Frank D. Layson

Frank D. Layson, 70, passed away on October 25, 2005 at Serenity Gate. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 29, 2005 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Burial will be private. Visitation will be Friday, October 28, 2005 from 7 until 9 PM at McCullough Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Hospice of Houston County, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.

Mr. Layson was born in Eatonton, Georgia on March 15, 1935. He retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base and the 202 EIS Air National Guard unit, Lewis B. Wilson Airport, Macon, Georgia. He was a member of the Mason Tyrian Lodge III, VFW Post 6605, Georgia Automobile Racing Hall of Fame, and NARFE. His parents, Horace and Allie Layson; brothers, Howard “Wink” Layson and H.A Layson, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Layson, Warner Robins; son, Dennis Layson (Mary), Tyrone, Georgia; daughter, Mimi Leaptrot, Warner Robins; brothers, Van Layson (Gertie), Eatonton; Allen Layson (Joanne), Reform, Alabama; Addison Layson (Connie), Calhoun; sisters, Eleanor Sirmans, Hawkinsville; Janie Little (Wintefred), Eatonton.
