Frank (Jim) M. Jenkins, Sr.

Frank (Jim) M. Jenkins, Sr., 69, died January 16, 2003, at Northside Hospital in Macon, Ga. He is survived by his wife, Janis Cannon Fields Jenkins and their children, Susan (Warren) Dunn, Macon; Sandra (Clay) Tidwell, Macon; Jeff Jenkins, Atlanta; Jimmy (Sachiko) Jenkins, Connecticut; Toni (Jim) Chavis, Warner Robins and Ronnie (Nancy) Fields, Kathleen. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Laurel May Reed Jenkins on May 30, 1997 and a grandson, Jimmy Chavis, Jr. on August 4, 2002. Three brothers, Jack, Butch, Pete and one sister Nancy Anken also survive Jim. Jim and Janis enjoyed ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Jim was born in Sumter, SC, to the late Jackson and Mary Lois Jenkins. He served in the United States Air Marine Corp during the Korean War and retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base. Jim was an accomplished artist who studied classical and southwestern art. Jim and Janis’ greatest passion was spending time with their family and friends. They also took great pleasure in the natural beauty of our United States, especially when traveling through the great American Southwest.

Services will be held at 12:00noon on Saturday, January 18 in the Chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. The Reverend Doug Davis will officiate. Interment will be at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Warner Robins. The family will receive friends before the service, from 11:00a.m. – 12:00p.m., at the funeral home.
