Mr. Frank Reid Shinn, 70, passed away at Houston County Medical Center on Friday, December 14, after an extended illness.
He was the son of the late Frank and Alma Shinn of Eatonton, GA. He was born in Salisbury, NC.
Mr. Shinn retired from Lance Inc. in 1993 after 23 years as the local distributor. He carried many fond memories of his friends and customers from Warner Robins, Robins Air Force Base, Perry, Fort Valley, and Macon.
He was a member of Centerville First United Methodist Church and The Wesley Fellowship Sunday School class. In the past he served as President of the Men’s Lunch Bunch and Vice-President of the Centerville Methodist Men for many years.
Survivors include his wife Alberta, his daughter and son-in-law Tonya and Richard Sapp, and grandson Brian Reid Sapp of Warner Robins; son and daughter-in-law Larry and Tamara Shinn; daughters, Linda Gail Shinn and Sandra Hamilton and son-in-law Marvin Hamilton and grandson Shane, all of Texas.
Children by marriage were Alfred Stephens of Warner Robins and Fred Stephens of Milledgeville. Also, Jim and Betty Stephens and granddaughters, Ginger and Cindy, all of South Carolina.
Also surviving Mr. Shinn are his brother, Robert Shinn of Eatonton; sisters, Faye Batchelor of Augusta and Jane Kelly of Eatonton; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at McCullough Funeral Home from 7 to 9pm Sunday evening. A memorial service will be held at Centerville First United Methodist Church at 2pm on Monday. The Reverends Eugene Barlow and Larry Bird will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Centerville United Methodist Church Building Fund.
