Long time Warner Robins resident Fred Jackson Luther, Sr. passed away peacefully on January 1, 2021, at The Phoenix at Lake Joy. He was born on September 29, 1930, in Abbeville, Georgia and was 90 years old at the time of his passing.
Fred’s pride and joy was his family. He adored every second he had with them, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved to tinker and repair things in his shed. His family thought he could literally fix anything. It was music to his ears when the grandchildren affectionately came to him with a broken toy, looked up with those innocent eyes and said, “Pix it, Papa.” He never disappointed. He was greatly loved and adored by his family and all who knew him. Fred was a supervisor at Robins Air Force Base for many years before he retired. He was a charter member of Evergreen Baptist Church and most recently attended Oasis Church in Byron.
Fred was preceded in death by parents, Ellie J. Luther and Ruby Selph Sewell along with his wife of 67 years, Juanice Helms Luther; brother Herman Luther, and son-in-law, Terry Hatley.
Surviving are his children, Deborah Hatley, Fred Luther, Jr., Donna Mercer (Barry), and Ken Luther (Kathryn); six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Magnolia Park Cemetery.
