G. G. Hobbs

October 18, 1915 — March 30, 2002

G.G. Hobbs, 86, died Saturday, March 30 at his residence. Services will be held on Tuesday, April 2 at 2:00pm in First Freewill Baptist Church with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7:00 until 9:00pm Monday, April 1 at McCullough Funeral Home.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice of Houston County, 2066 Watson Blvd., Warner Robins, GA, 31093.

Born in Oglethorpe, GA Mr. Hobbs was retired and had been a self-employed carpenter. He was a member and the founder of the First Freewill Baptist Church. He was also the last surviving elder of the church. Additionally, he was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and the Joiners of America, Local Chapter #144. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Fraunie Hobbs.

Survivors include his wife, Lorene Hobbs, daughters, Peggy Meadows and Betty Hobbs, both of Warner Robins; son, George (Eddie) Hobbs, Warner Robins; daughter, Annie Ruth North, Del City, OK; sisters, Bernice Burgamy, Cusseta, GA; Louise Williams, Americus; Lona Frappier, Vermont; brother, Bruen Hobbs, Chattanooga, TN; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

McCullough Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
