Funeral services for Mr. Gaither Banks Lane age 95 will be conducted Friday, September 9, 2022 at 4 P.M in Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Milledgeville with Rev. Larry Glover officiating. Interment will be Private.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 3 P.M until the service hour.

Gaither Banks Lane, 95, of Warner Robins, formally of Milledgeville, passed away September 6, 2022 at his home. He was the son of Samuel Henry Lane and Essie Stephens Lane Bloodworth and Ed Bloodworth.
He retired from Robins AFB. He was a member of the Greatest Generation having served in the US Army Old Guard, serving on the honorary burial detain at Arlington National Cemetery and later as a guard for the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
He was an avid deer hunter, Atlanta Braves fan, and high school football fan as well as a devoted fan of UGA football first, SEC football second, and those other football conferences third.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his first wife, Mary Frances Ward Lane and second wife Kathryn Harris Lane, sisters Mary Lane Hitchcock, Catherine Grimes, Margorie Jones, Louise Gremli and brothers Pierce Bloodworth, Sydney Bloodworth, Otis Bloodworth, and Raymond Bloodworth and a great granddaughter, Macy Marie Chapman.
He is survived by daughters Connie Underwood of Milledgeville; Gail Thomason (Andy) of Oak Park, GA; sons Allen Lane of Canton; Kenneth Lane (Teresa) of Macon; Wayne Harvester of Warner Robins; grandchildren Doug Underwood (Genna), Jodi Chapman (Mark Clark), Haley Williams (Andy), Kelli Evans (Kyle), Stefanie Jaworski, Christy Manning, Georgia Anne Harvester, Austin Roberts; great grandchildren Mark Chapman (Jamie), Hannah Chapman (Chris), Brooke Terry (Clint), Braden Underwood, Audrey Williams and Weston Williams, Landon Crannick; great-great grandchildren Grayson Terry and Colton Chapman. He is also survived by one sister Linda Tanner of Milledgeville, numerous cousins and nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to Agape Hospice in Warner Robins for the excellent care and comfort provided to both daddy and his family. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
