Garnett "Mack" Howell

January 6, 1940 — October 14, 2016

Mack Howell, 76, died on Friday, October 14, 2016 after a head injury.

Mack was born in Catersville, Georgia on January 6, 1940. A lifelong resident of the Warner Robins Area, Mack graduated from Warner Robins High School in 1959. While there he played football, baseball, basketball, and track. Following high school, he served his country in the Army Reserves, and worked at Flint Electric Corporation. Mack then began his career at Robins Air Force Base where he worked until his retirement in 1995, when he became a professional piddler.
Mack was also a lifelong Member of Second Baptist Church in Warner Robins, GA where he served as Director of the Royal Ambassador, 7th grade Sunday School Director, Bus Ministry Mechanic and in the Passion Play Ministry. He was affectionately known as "Mr. Mack" by many who he taught how to water ski, swim, shoot, camping, fix things, and gave a helping hand.

He is preceded in death by his wives, Nettie Barrs Howell and Genie Williams Howell; mother, Margret Williams Howell; father, Shirley "Slim" Garnett Howell; sister, Virginia "Jenny" Howell Etheridge and daughter-in-law Wanda Mosley Howell.

His is survived by his two sons: John Howell (Teresa), Chipley, FL; Terry Howell (Paige), Tucker; stepdaughters: Teresa Howell (John), Chipley FL; Debbie Booth (Larry), Warner Robins; brother-in-law, Sid Etheridge, Warner Robins; grandchildren: Amanda Bouton (Chris), Jacksonville, FL; Andrew Howell (Carla), Woodbridge, VA; Rebecca Monge (Luis), McDonough; Nathan Howell, Tucker; Luke Howell, Smyrna; John Mark Howell (Tori), Chipley, FL; Joshua Howell, Chipley, Fl; step-grandchildren: Heather Rountree, Chipley, FL; Kenny Rountree, Macon; Jerry Booth (Marianna), Newport News, VA; Tyler Booth, Warner Robins; great-grandchildren: Ben Bouton, Regina Howell, Aaron Bouton, Bristol Howell, Noah Monge, Zion Smith, Harmony Smith, Bryson Howell, Katelyn Monge, and John David Bouton and many nieces, nephews, and cousins
Visitation with Mack's family will be held on Monday, October 17, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 in the Chapel of McCullough. Following the service, Mack will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
