Gary Howard ''Nick'' Knickerbocker

August 16, 1942 — October 15, 2012

Gary "Nick" Knickerbocker, 70, entered into rest on Monday, October 15, 2012 after a long and courageous battle with cancer and coronary artery disease.

Nick was born on August 16, 1942 in St. Johns, Michigan to the late Howard Knickerbocker and Iola Ridenour-Witt Knickerbocker. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era and retired after over twenty years of service. Nick also went on to retire from Robins Air Force Base as a Food Service Officer. He had a great love for dogs and fishing, and enjoyed cooking for friends and neighbors whenever he had the chance.

His memory will forever be treasured by his adoring wife of forty-nine years, Linda Knickerbocker, Warner Robins; children, Randy Knickerbocker (Donna), Newnan, Georgia; Candy Rainey, Warner Robins; and Sandy Ragsdale (Shelley), Oxford, Alabama; son, grandson, and best friend, Jeremiah Johnson, Warner Robins; grandchildren, Caela and Casey Rainey, and Griffin Pitts; brothers, Walt Knickerbocker, Ovid, Michigan; Barry Knickerbocker, Michigan; and Roger Knickerbocker, Fort Worth, Texas; sisters, Shirley Hall, Fort Worth, Texas and Cindy Fritz, Lansing, Michigan; several nieces and nephews; and honorary family members, Elexis Sharpe, and Jake, and Carson Tyree.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 17, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Shady Grove Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in Resthaven Memorial Park, Louisville, Kentucky. The family will accept flowers or donations may be given to Central Georgia Cancer Care, 114 Sutherlin Drive, Suite C-1, Warner Robins, GA 31088 or to Shady Grove Baptist Church, 3642 US Highway 41 North, Byron, GA 31008.
