Geary Lee Ward

Geary Lee Ward, a proud veteran and dedicated aircraft mechanic, passed away at the age of 74 on Monday, February 12, 2024. Born in Palatka, Florida, on October 31, 1949, Geary was the beloved son of the late R.P. and Gladys Lane Ward.

Geary served his country with honor in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant before retiring. Following his military career, Geary continued to serve his country as an Aircraft Mechanic at Robins Air Force Base for several years.

In his leisure time, Geary had a passion for hunting and was a member of the Buckmasters. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing. Described as fun-loving and the best kind of quirky, Geary had a quiet soul and a brilliant mind, excelling at games like Trivial Pursuit. He had a particular fondness for Mexican food, was known for making his own “Soggy French Fries,” and enjoyed sipping on sweet tea.

Geary Lee Ward will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In addition to Geary parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Lee Michelle Ward, and Joel Geary Ward.

His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Jeff Ward (Tarah) of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Zander Ward (Brooke) of Savannah, and Brittan Ward of Warner Robins; brother, Wesley Ward of Palatka, Florida; and mother of his children, Francesca Sapp (Jack) of Warner Robins.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Geary will be laid to rest at Andersonville National Cemetery.
