Gene E. Forrester

Gene E. Forrester, affectionately known as “Papa Gene”, 73, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2007.

Mr. Forrester was born on June 22, 1934 in Griffin, Georgia. Gene retired from Robins Air Force Base where he worked in civil service as an Engineering Planner. With honor and commitment, he was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict. Gene was a permanent member of the Disabled American Veterans, and the District 7 ABATE (American Bikers Association through Education). His parents, Marcus Carl and Amanda Mae Forrester, brothers, Harold, David, and Bobby Joe Forrester, all preceded him in death.

Survivors include his sons, Marcus Forrester, Chambers, AZ; Michael Forrester, Charleston, SC; three brothers, Burel, Wilbert, and John Forrester, all of Griffin; four grandchildren, and one great grandson.

Visitation will be Thursday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 10, 2007 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. There will be a reception following the service at Secrets Lounge located at 844 N. Houston Road Warner Robins, GA 31093. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
