Gennie Lou Lanier

February 16, 1917 — February 20, 2009

Gennie Lanier, 92, entered into rest Friday, February 20, 2009.

Mrs. Lanier was born on February 16, 1917, in Maud, Texas. She spent most of her life as a homemaker. During World War II she worked with the Red River Arsenal Munitions Plant in Texarkana, Texas. Houston Lake Baptist was her church home. Her loving husband of fifty-nine years, Ethridge Lanier, and her parents, Thaddeus and Mary Elizabeth Morgan, five sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children; Carole Mason (Randal), Rogers, Arkansas, Mary Hale (David), Willis, Texas, Dianne Nevill, Houston, Texas and John Lanier (Etta), Warner Robins; six grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be Monday, February 23, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2009, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Parkway Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Houston Lake Baptist Church Building Fund 2300 Highway 127 East, Perry, Georgia, 31069.
