George Burris, 65, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 23, 2019.
Born on October 19, 1953, George was the son of the late Henry David Burris and Margaret Montine Hattaway Burris. He worked in construction after high school until he enlisted into the Navy. George honorably served his country for two years. After the military, George began his career in painting as the owner/operator of Burris Painting. He was also a professional bull rider in his younger years and later became a coast to coast truck driver. George was always willing to help others and would frequently give people rides all over town free of charge. His favorite pastimes included hunting, fishing, camping, being outdoors, and playing pool. George was a devoted Christian and loved to sing with The Northview/ Tennessee Three Gospel choir group. He was a longtime member of Northview United Methodist Church and mature in his faith.
His memory will forever be treasured by his longtime companion, Connie Gilman of Warner Robins; and siblings, Clint Burris (Vickie) of Warner Robins, Faye Godfrey, Danny Burris and Ervin Burris, all of Parker City, Indiana.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2019 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterwards, Mr. Burris will be laid to rest at the Magnolia Park Mausoleum.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of George L. Burris to Northview United Methodist Church at 90 Tabor Drive, Warner Robins, Georgia 31093.
