George E. Wynn walked into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, August 11, 2017. He was 92.
George was born on March 30, 1925 in Dublin, Georgia to the late John Silas and Lula Mae Browning Wynn. A graduate of Dublin High School, he worked at Robins Air Force Base as an Analyst for 41 years. After retiring from Civil Service, he became a successful real estate agent for 19 years. George was a charter member of the Warner Robins Home Builders Association and enjoyed building houses. In his free time, he enjoyed dove hunting, farming and following the stock market.
George was a longtime faithful member of Green Acres Baptist Church in Warner Robins where he served as an usher and Member of the building committee. He later attended First Baptist Church Jonesboro in Jonesboro, Georgia and was most recently a member of Clairmont Hills Baptist Church in Decatur, Georgia. The legacy of George’s faith in God, and his incredibly strong will and commitment to integrity, above all things, will always live in the hearts of his family, friends, and everyone who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his brothers, Perry Wynn, Theron Wynn, and Lawrence H. Wynn, Sr.
George’s memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 55 years, Jeanette Wynn of Decatur; sons, Randy Wynn (Linda) and Ronnie Wynn (Trisha), both of Warner Robins; daughters, Jenny Wynn Burk (Mike) of Tyrone, Georgia and Jerilyn Wynn Steinberg (Matthew) of Decatur; stepsons, Randy and Glen Wilkes, both of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Candace Perry (Dr. Michael) of Alpharetta, Chandler Mauldin of Tennessee, Abigail and Savannah Steinberg, both of Decatur, Randy Wynn, Jr. (Melissa) and Scott Wynn (Ashley), both of Warner Robins, Sheri Wynn Self (Mickey) of Warner Robins, Carrie Wynn Luck of Alabama, Suzanne Wynn Obst of Florida, Dr. Michelle Wynn Harris (Eric) of California, and Lyndsay Wynn Lanier and Clint Wynn, both of Warner Robins; 22 great-grandchildren; and brother, Julian Wynn.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 13th from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Dr. Johnny Ellison officiating. Following the service, George will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
