George Thomas Smith

George Thomas Smith, 74, passed away peacefully at his home with his daughter Kelli by his side on the afternoon of Sunday, December 4, 2022.

Mr. Smith was born on August 21, 1948, in McDuffie County, Georgia to the late Edgar Lee and Vallie Taylor Smith. He was a meat cutter and processor for more than 40 years, retiring from Sunnyland Foods. He was a much-loved member of the Quail Run neighborhood and enjoyed sitting on his porch greeting his neighbors. He adored his two dogs, Ginger and PeeWee. He was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Giles-Rozier and his brother, Edgar L. Smith, Sr.

His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Kelli-Ami Brown (Howard), Miechell Short, Margaret Staples, Tracey Humphries, and Michael Smith; his granddaughters, Alaina Langley, Carra Langley, and Katie Brown; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

Visitation with Mr. Smith’s family will be Wednesday, December 7, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. The funeral service celebrating his life will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Marty Watson officiating. Following the service, Mr. Smith will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
