Warner Robins – Mr. George W. Turner, Jr., passed away on January 9, 2003. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, January 12 in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at McCullough Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Oakland Baptist Church, Russell Parkway, Warner Robins, GA, 31088.
Mr. Turner was born in Tuskeegee, Alabama. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army Air Force. He was retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base having worked in Aircraft Maintenance. He was the owner of Turner’s Frame Shop and a member of Oakland Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Senior Men’s Sunday School class, the Oakland Senior Citizens and was a Deacon Emeritus. His parents, George W. and Leona C. Turner, son-in-law, Freddy W. Hester, grandson, David Wade Booth, three sisters and two brothers all preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline (Polly) Turner, Warner Robins; daughters (and sons-in-law), Naomi Brooks (Olan), Dale Booth (Phil), Evelyn Hester, Claudia Farris (Joe), all of Warner Robins; sister, Helen Ware, Lee County, AL; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
