Georgianna Box, 78, entered into rest on Monday, November 30, 2009.
Born on April 17, 1931 in Oak Park, Illinois, Mrs. Box was a U. S. Navy veteran. She retired from the Houston County Board of Education after thirty years of faithful service as a food service manager. Her last assignment was at Westside Elementary School. She was an avid reader who loved to travel and was active in the local Senior Citizens Club. She was predeceased by her husband, James Richard Box, parents, George Travis Oliver and Dannie Phifer Oliver, and sister, Louise Dorhn.
She will live on in hearts of her daughters, Linda Thomas and Diana Smallwood, both of Byron, and Gail Carlson (Allyn), Warner Robins; grandchildren, Christina Pruett (Tim), Tony Wagner (Karen), James Carlson, and Jessica Rush (Chad); and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 2, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2009, at Parkway Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Hospice of Central Georgia, P. O. Box 6533, Macon GA 31208.
