Geraldine C. Porenski

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother and sister, Geraldine C. Porenski. She joined her beloved husband, Harry Stephen Porenski, Jr. in heaven, during the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 26, 2022. She was 80 years old.

Geraldine was born in Goose Rock, KY on August 7, 1941 to the late Henry and Bessie Herd Crawford. For several years, she dedicated herself to serving customers as a loan officer at Lincoln Federal Savings Bank from where she retired. Geraldine sadly lost her husband, Harry, in 2020, and moved to Bonaire to be closer to her family not long after that. Since moving to Bonaire, she enjoyed attending King’s Cross in Perry, reading, doing puzzles, and traveling, but going to her grandchildren’s activities gave her the most joy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry Steven Porenski, Jr.; and brothers, Henry “Junior” and Luther Crawford.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving daughter, Lisa Hardegree (Jake) of Bonaire; grandchildren, Hannah, Seth and Hadyn Hardegree; brothers, Robert, Bill (Pat), Charlie (Janie), Ray (Jennifer), Eugene (Diana) and Ernie Crawford; and sisters, Edna Carney, Mamie Burnside, Wanda Rhodes and Virginia Darlene Tackett (John).

A memorial service celebrating Geraldine’s life will take place at a later date.
