Geraldine "Geri" Luckett

May 30, 1959 — August 19, 2022

Geraldine “Geri” Hodges Luckett, 63, transitioned to her heavenly home on Friday, August 19, 2022, at Emory Hospital, in Atlanta, Georgia. Her happy and jovial spirit was a beacon of light to her family and all who knew her.

The adored daughter of the late Nero Hodges Sr. and Emma Mae Cox Hodges, Geraldine was born on May 30, 1959, in Fort Valley and raised in Byron, Georgia. With pride and honor, she served as a sergeant in the United States Army and was “Army Strong.” Following her military career, Geraldine co-owned and operated 4L Glass Company with her husband but never forgot her patriotic roots. Geraldine dedicated her life to the Lord and serving others. She was outgoing and made friends everywhere she went, she never met a stranger. Family oriented, Geri took on the role of organizer for family events; she loved to travel and attend sister retreats. A natural born leader, Geri sought opportunities to help teach others the importance of financial management. Geri will be remembered as a giver who loved to laugh and share life with others.

In addition to her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by her siblings, Lizzie Mae Sanders, Anthony Hodges, Sammie Hodges, Rosa Lee Smith, Willie Frank Hodges and Eugene Hodges Sr.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband of 23 years, Tom Luckett; children, Wynetta Thomas of Parker, Colorado and Glenn Allen Conner, Jr. (Sheontee) of Clermont, Florida; grandchild, Jordan Conner; siblings, Nero Hodges, Jr. (Marilyn), Elizabeth Canady (Charlie), Lessie Bell Jackson (Knight), Sharon Richardson (Willie), Betty Zanders (Michael), Amie Grace (Bruce), Rosalyn Moore and Jeanette Smith; two stepsons, Thomaz Luckett (Kurchelle) and Jonathan Luckett; God-given sisters, Joann Howard and Deborah Wiggins; multiple chosen children; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

A celebration of Geraldine’s life will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Geraldine will be laid to rest privately. For friends unable to attend at this time, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.
