Gilbert "Bill" Daviss, 92, entered into rest on May 13, 2011.
Born on August 1, 1918, Mr. Daviss retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base after 37 years of faithful and loyal service. He was a member of First Christian Church, an avid fisherman and a mason. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dora Sims Daviss; parents, Gilbert Paxton Daviss, Sr. and Fannie Mae Lee Daviss, and sisters, Ethel Lee McKinstry and Ann Bowen.
His memory will forever be treasured by his son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Cynthia Daviss, Perry; granddaughters, Kelley Daviss, Avondale Estates, and Pepper Ware (Mark), Newnan; great-grandson, Kolby Ware; siblings, Jack F. Daviss, Warner Robins, James C. Daviss, Marietta, and Clarissa Snelling, Riverdale; caretakers, Jerry Ridley and Ruby Ridley.
Visitation will be Monday, May 16, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Chaplain Thomas Qualls officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the donor's charity of choice.
