Gladys Blakley

Gladys White Blakley, 73, entered into rest on Monday, June 15, 2009.

Ms. Blakley was born on March 18, 1936, in Houston County and was a lifelong resident. Of the Baptist Faith, she grew up in Tharpe Memorial Baptist Church. After graduating from Middle Georgia Police Academy, she went to work with the Houston County Sherriff's Department. After retirement, she continued to work as a Bailiff for Juvenile Court. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Arthur A. White, Jr., and Martha Jean Parish; and parents, Arthur A. White, Sr., and Annie Lois White.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband, Robert W. Blakley; children, Beth Fuller Bowman (Wiley), Buchanan, Woody Fuller (Beverly), Byron, and Ed Fuller (Brenda), Centerville; grandchildren, Brandon Bowman, Buchanan, Brad Bowman, Savannah, Mikki Quinones, Kathleen, Lauren Fuller, Byron, Michael Moriarty, Warner Robins, and Sarah Moriarty, Centerville; brother, Chuck White (Jodi), Roswell: Sister-in-law, Betty Gilstrap (Olus) Easley, South Carolina; and eleven nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 17, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2009, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Dr. Napp Granade and Reverend Jackie Gorman officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Perry. Memorial may be given to the American Diabetes Association, 17 Executive Park Drive, Suite 115, Atlanta GA 30329.
