Glen P. Bembry, Sr., 84, passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2004 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 11, at the Chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Walnut Cemetery, Unadilla, Georgia. Visitation will be 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 10 at McCullough Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be to the Alzheimer's Association GA Chapter, Central Georgia Office, 277 Martin Luther King, Jr, Blvd, Suite 201, Macon, GA 31201-3498.
Mr. Bembry was born August 16, 1920 in Hawkinsville, Georgia. After graduating from Hawkinsville High School, he joined the United States Air Force where he served in WWII. After serving in the Air Force, he continued with the USAF Reserves, where he later retired as a CMSGT. Mr. Bembry retired from Civil Service on Robins Air Force Base where he worked as an Industrial Engineer. He was a member of Second Baptist Church and the Fishers of Men Sunday School Class, Masonic #111 and Scottish Rites as a 32 degree Mason and achieved his 50 year service pin. Preceding him in death were wife, Eloise McEachern Bembry; parents, Gordon and Annie Lee Pattishall Bembry; brothers, Allen, Clyde, Paul, and George Bembry and sisters, Esther Bembry, Belinda Sanders, and Emma Lilly Schmidt.
Survivors include son, Glen P. Bembry, Jr., Warner Robins; son, Leonard A. Bembry, Huntsville, Alabama; daughter, Devonna E. Rhea, Niceville, Florida; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
