In the early morning hours of Monday, December 4, 2017, Gloria Thomas, 74, passed away peacefully.
Gloria was born on February 6, 1943 in Macon, Georgia. She exercised her great work ethic at Plastican Incorporated as a material handler for many years before retiring 15 years ago. Gloria was a member of the Apostolic Church of Warner Robins where she devotedly served the Lord. She was a very strong person who loved animals, flowers, shopping, and Elvis. Her family jokes how she could out talk anyone. Gloria enjoyed being outdoors especially gardening and spending time at the beach. She also enjoyed cooking and taught her son everything she knew about cooking and baking. Gloria was a loving and devoted mother whose greatest joy came from her son.
Her father, Lee Coulter, mother, Gladys Smith Powers, and siblings, Faye Porter and Jeffery Powers, preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her son, Floyd Thomas, Jr. of Macon; sister, Linda Lancaster (Buddy), fur babies, Amber, Mandy, and Ted, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Gloria’s life will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2017 at McCullough Funeral Home.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Gloria Ann Thomas to the Humane Society of Houston County, P.O. Box 9588, Warner Robins, GA 31095.
