Pensacola – Golden L. Prater, 84, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2005. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 28, at Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 27 at McCullough Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1544, Warner Robins, GA 31099-1544.
Mr. Prater was born in Logan County, West Virginia April 7, 1920 to the late Jesse and Elizabeth Prater. A veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, he proudly served during World War II. Mr. Prater was retired from Civil Service on Robins Air Force Base where he worked as an Aircraft Production Foreman. He was previously a member of Second Baptist Church in Warner Robins, Georgia.
Survivors include, loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Gwendolyn Marshall Prater, Pensacola, Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Claire and Charles Page, Atlantic Beach, North Carolina; son, Michael Barry Prater, Warner Robins, Georgia; brother, Warren Prater, Canton, Ohio; sister, Alta M. Krug, Canton, Ohio; grandchildren, Christopher Page, Marshall Page, Jesse Prater, John Prater; and great-grandson, Michael Prater.
