Fritz Layton, 87, entered into rest on Saturday, January 9, 2016.
Fritz was born on February 14, 1928 in Pilesgrove, New Jersey. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. With pride and honor he served his country for twenty years in the United States Navy until his retirement and then continued to work as a civil servant for many years. He spent the last two years at John Wesley Villas.
His beloved wife, Janette Layton and grand-daughter, Amy Elizabeth Layton preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his devoted children: G.A."Skip" Layton, Jr. (Kim) of Locust Grove and Lynn Odom (Rex) of Macon; grandsons, Scott (Joy), Wesley (Tara) and Adam (Grace) and six great grandchildren, Ashley, Bailey, Bryce, Kayla, Jocelen and Kai.
A Graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 11, 2016 in Magnolia Park Cemetery, 205 S Pleasant Hill Rd, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Gordon Layton, Sr. to Heritage United Methodist Church, 4062 Vineville Avenue, Macon, Georgia 31210, Georgia Sheriffs' Association, 3000 Highway 42N, P.O. Box 1000, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281, or United States Navy Memorial, 701 Pennsylvania Avenue N.W., Washington, D.C. 20004.
