Grace Irene Black Myers, 85, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 2, 2009.
Mrs. Myers was born on November 5, 1923, in Albany, and attended Cosmetology School in Atlanta. With pride and honor, she served with the WAVES in the United States Navy. She was the President of the Lantana Club in Warner Robins for many years. Her church home was Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Wesleyan Sunday School Class. Her first husband, Earl Myers, and parents, Robert Black and Kinney Black, preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband, Marshall Greene; daughter, Bonnie Evans (Thomas), Greensboro; son, Gary Myers (Betty), Macon; grandchildren, Shannon Myers, Macon, Shawn Myers, Garden City, Thomas Evans, Jr., Atlanta, Shay Evans, Brunswick; great-grandchildren, Logan and Brooke Myers, Garden City, Peyton and Ethan Wilson, Macon, Andrew, Katie and Caroline F. Evans, Atlanta, Caroline G. and Lindsey Evans, Brunswick.
Visitation will be Friday, June 5, 2009, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be Friday, June 5, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, Pastors Bill Bagwell and Rusty Smith officiating. Entombment will follow in Magnolia Park Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Trinity United Methodist Church Building Fund, 129 S. Houston Road, Warner Robins GA 31088 or to Hospice of Central Georgia, P.O. Box 6533, Macon GA 31208.
