Grady Bowen, 86, died Saturday, August 30, 2003 at the Houston Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, September 2 at the Chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 Monday evening at McCullough Funeral Home.

Mr. Bowen was born in Vienna, GA to the late Levy and Clara Mae Bowen. He worked as a farmer for twenty years. He served as Police Chief of Warner Robins from 1949-1952. He owned and operated Bowen Auto Parts from 1952-1977. He was a member of the Mars Hill Baptist Church in Dooly County.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Bowen, Warner Robins; Grady E. Bowen, Jr., Bonaire; daughter, Mary Beth Sullivan, Warner Robins; brothers, Ralph Bowen, Pine Hurst, Alton Bowen, Centerville; sisters, Nancy Conner, Hawkinsville, Shirley Walton, Atlanta; four grandchildren
