James W. Duncan, 88, entered into rest on Saturday, December 19, 2009.
Born in Mobile, Alabama, he served his country with pride and honor in the United States Marine Corps until his retirement, having participated in WW II and in the Korean Conflict. His parents, Henry Duncan and Ada Vaughn Duncan, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of sixty-and-one-half years, Eolin Brookins Duncan, Warner Robins; son, Patrick Duncan (Sheila), Warner Robins; daughter, Ann Duncan Surmiak (Hilory), Niceville, Florida; grandchildren, Kevin, Timothy, Joel, Melanie and Samantha Duncan; Andrew and Paul Surmiak, and Kara Owen; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Ada Marie Havens, Mobile, Alabama, Helen Faith Rice, Lawrenceville, and Henrie Conway, Fairhope, Alabama; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, December 21, 2009, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2009, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Reverend Herbert Dean officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Suite A, Macon GA 31201.
