Gypsy Delores Lawson, age 84, passed away peacefully on August 29th, 2022 and is now rejoicing in Heaven with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! She has taken her place in God’s Holy orchestra!
Gypsy, born to the late Edna Hancock on March 17th, 1938 was a retired Registered Nurse and an active member of Second Baptist Church where she played clarinet in the orchestra. She also played in The Bob Barr Community Band in Columbus, GA.
Gypsy loved her family to the fullest and prayed diligently for her loved ones. She was unwavering in her faith and commitment to Jesus.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles F. Lawson.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Scott) Sons Rippley and Chuck; grandchildren, Lauren (Blake), Jessie (Nick), Jeana (Cory), and Casey (Jackson); and great grandchildren, Cohen, Brice, Cassidy, Colin, Kaiya, and Fallon.
Family and friends, and all who were touched by Gypsy's life are invited to join on Thursday, September 1, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home for visitation. A funeral service celebrating her beautiful life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 2, 2022, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Gypsy will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
