Harold L Cumbie

On the afternoon of Saturday, October 5, 2024, Mr. Harold L. Cumbie, 95, joined his Lord and Savior in heaven. A native of Dothan, Alabama, Mr. Cumbie graduated from Dothan High School and Howard College (now Samford University). He attended Southern Baptist seminaries and was an ordained Baptist preacher. Mr. Cumbie was a member of Central Baptist Church where he taught Bible classes. He preached extensively in Middle Georgia as a supply speaker. Prior to coming to Warner Robins in 1962, he served pastorates in Alabama and North Carolina. He authored the book “Who in the World is God”. Mr. Cumbie was retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base after thirty-one years of dedicated service.  

Mr. Cumbie was the son of the late Ben and Thelma Cumbie of Dothan, Alabama. He is survived by his wife of seventy-two years, Janice; daughters, Carole Watkins (Allen) of Hoover, Alabama, Lisa Hancock (Kyle) of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, Laura Dutton of Pooler, Georgia; son, David of Mobile Alabama; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

The funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Central Baptist Church with visitation one hour prior. Mr. Cumbie will be laid to rest in a private committal service at Parkway Memorial Gardens.
