Harold V. Fitzpatrick, 85, entered into rest on Monday, April 28, 2008.
Mr. Fitzpatrick was born on September 16, 1922, in Brooklyn, New York. With pride and honor he served his country in the United States Army for sixteen years, and then as a jet engine mechanic in the United States Air Force for six years. He participated in campaigns in World War II as well as in the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. Subsequently, he served his community as a Houston County Deputy Sheriff. He attended Warner Robins First Christian Church. His parents, Walter Fitzpatrick and Loretta Mankowski Fitzpatrick preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Fitzpatrick, Byron; daughter, Patricia Riner, Byron; sons, Michael Fitzpatrick, Warner Robins; Stephen Fitzpatrick, Albany and John Fitzpatrick, Byron; eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 30, 2008 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2008, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with full military honors; interment will be in the Georgia War Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Milledgeville. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Georgia War Veterans Home, 2249 Vinson Highway, Milledgeville, GA 31061 or to Serenity Gate , 1120 Morningside Drive, Perry GA 31069, 478-988-1788.
